One person has been arrested following an incident in Tsawwassen Wednesday afternoon that prompted a significant police response.
Delta police say in a news release that officers were called to a residence on Gilchrist Drive just after 3 p.m. for a report of a person who had barricaded themselves inside the home.
S/Sgt. Mike Whiteley said the Lower Mainland District – Emergency Response Team attended and cleared the residence.
One person was arrested at the scene without incident.
Police are not providing any details about the person in custody at this time.
Police are also stressing that there is no further threat to the public.
Police will be remaining on scene to continue the investigation.
Gilchrist Drive and surrounding streets will be open to the public again shortly.
