As BIV grows and continues to pursue its mandate as British Columbia’s business platform of record, the organization is pleased to announce a series of leadership appointments that mark the beginning of a new chapter.
Lara Graham has been named publisher and general manager of BIV. With more than 30 years of experience in media, she previously served as regional publisher for the Tri-City ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµapp, Burnaby Now and New West Record. In her new role, she leads all facets of BIV’s operations while driving the brand’s long-term strategy and growth. She also oversees Western Investor and the company’s recruitment marketing agency.
Alvin Chow has been appointed vice-president, sales at BIV and Western Investor. He will continue in his existing role as vice-president, national sales. Chow brings extensive experience in leadership, media strategy and client partnerships, and will lead overall revenue growth and initiatives across the BIV and Western Investor platforms.
Marianne LaRochelle has been named director of partnerships and will lead BIV’s expanding events division. LaRochelle has spent the past four years at BIV, where she has played a key role in driving revenue growth and managing strategic client relationships. In her expanded role, she will focus on building industry partnerships and elevating BIV’s event portfolio as a cornerstone of the brand
On the editorial side, Tyler Orton has been elevated to managing editor. Orton’s proven expertise in journalism and deep understanding of the British Columbia business landscape will continue to bring immense value to BIV’s editorial initiatives.
Orton will work closely with editor-in-chief Hayley Woodin Hastings, who continues on in an elevated role leadership role that includes leadership of BIV events, strategic initiatives, partnership development and the expansion of BIV’s unmatched business journalism. She also serves as editor-in-chief of Western Investor and The Orca.
This team will continue to build upon BIV’s success by being the go-to source of business news in British Columbia.
This announcement comes as Glacier Media introduces Lodestar Media, its new media division uniting trusted brands under one banner.
