Streeter: What do parkgoers think of Sp’akw’us Feather Park?

The Ƶapp’s youth reporter set out to find out.

In Squamish, the newly redone Sp’akw’us Feather Park has been open for several months.

The Ƶapp set out to find out what some parkgoers thought about it.

Of those we talked to, all expressed positive attitudes towards the change.

Long-standing local George Wilson was one to back up this new park.

“It was a necessary change,” he said, describing it as “great, fabulous.”

He especially described the park as a great place to take his dog, Finn, and “smell the smells.”

Marco Vieira , a more recent member of the Ƶappcommunity emulated this feeling in describing the park as his favourite place to come to, and to enjoy a beautiful day in his free time. With Ƶappas his new home, Marco is grateful for the new park as it displays the “sense of community and kindness of the people.”

Alongside locals, tourists passing by display a similar disposition.

Brutus Russell, from Georgia, was impressed by the developments of the park, remarking on how the beauty of the landscape was complemented by the freshly designed park. His accompanying friends and family second his opinion, as they all had enjoyed their time at the park and in Ƶappas a whole.

Thomas Legg is a high school intern with The Ƶapp.
