Many more events are coming up; go to our online events calendar to see them all!

1. On May 25, roll over to the Kids' Bike Drive, at 40446 Government Rd, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

"Donate or pick up used bikes: Bikes can be dropped off in the morning, in fair to good working condition. No parts please, mostly kids bikes. Bikes can be picked up in the afternoon after they have been fixed up in the morning ready to ride. All welcome. Bike mechanics also needed for helping to fix bikes," reads the listing.

2. On May 30, The Big Fat Comedy Show is back, with Ty Boissonnault, at Trickster's Hideout, located at 38005 Cleveland Ave., from 7 to 10 p.m.

"Ty’s high-energy style manifests in both quick jokes and storytelling, making him one of Canada’s must-see acts. A Yuk Yuks regular, he has opened for Jesus Trejo and Josh Adam Meyers. He’s currently taking his Canada Trips Tour across the country. In the feature spot, we have the one-liner king, Craig Alexander! Originally from the UK, Craig blends British double entendres and misdirection with Canadian day-to-day life like no other. That’s on top of a killer lineup of funny folks — including Kelsey Hamilton, Crystal Asham and Kev Appleby—kicking things off," reads the listing.

3. Also on May 30, catch Colin Linden "Ride On " Tour at the Brackendale Art Gallery: Café & Culture Centre, located at 41950 Government Rd., from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m.
"Colin Linden’s tale is the stuff of legend, the kind told in the Coen brothers’ O Brother Where Art Thou or Inside Llewyn Davis, both of which featured his guitar playing on the soundtracks. As a singer/guitarist, he’s accompanied everyone from Bruce Cockburn (as his producer and touring musician) to Bob Dylan, Greg Allman, Rihannon Giddens, Pistol Annies, John Prine and more. He was the main contributor to the music for the Nashville TV show and subsequent live tours. Along the way, Linden played on over 500 albums and produced 140, including his first-ever actual Grammy in 2020 for producing Keb Mo’s Oklahoma, winner for Best Americana Album," reads the listing.

4. On May 31Ruby Waters: Soup Cans Tour (Unplugged) plays the Crash Hotel, located at 38005 Cleveland Ave., from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m.

"See Whistler-based artist Ruby Waters perform live unplugged at the Chieftain on May 31st. A donation of 3 non-perishable food items is required upon entry. All ticket proceeds will be donated to The Dugout. About The Dugout: The Dugout is a nondenominational charitable organization serving residents of Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. We offer a community living room: a place where people can come to enjoy a free snack and a coffee away from the street or from the isolation that many in the neighbourhood experience," reads the listing.
