A rally in support of Fairy Creek activists took to the Highway 99 overpass near Garibaldi Village mall in ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµappon Friday evening (May 28).
Activists have been protesting old-growth logging that is slated for a cut block west of Victoria.
On the Island, a group of activists called the has blockaded the Fairy Creek watershed for several months to try and prevent the logging.
Arrests of activists began May 17 when police started enforcing a B.C. Supreme Court injunction against interfering with forestry company Teal Jones Group's logging operation
RCMP have so far arrested 137 activists at the Fairy Creek protest, according to a news release from Mounties.
In Squamish, dozens held placards and waved at oncoming traffic. Similar actions in support of those fighting to prevent old-growth logging have been held across B.C.
