The Howe Sound Cannons are sitting pretty in the North Shore Men's Baseball Association (NSMBA) as the playoffs loom.
The club finished the regular season with a record of 14 wins, five losses and one tie, good for first place in the league and will wait and see who they match up against in the postseason after receiving a first-round bye.
"We hope to repeat as champions once again, although there are a few teams who are hot right now so it won't be easy," said Cannons first baseman Tyler Magee. "Manager Jones and Capt. Jeremy Galley have tricks up their sleeves, though, to make sure the Cannons come out successful for the fourth time in the past five years."
The Cannons struggled down the stretch, playing the A's to a draw on July 18 and then being swept in a doubleheader by the Reds on July 31. Playoff action for the team kicks off on Saturday (Aug. 11) in North Vancouver, with the NSMBA Finals set for Aug. 18.
