ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵappriders had busy days on two wheels on both sides of the continent.

Over in Sudbury, Ont., a handful of locals participated in the third Canada Cup event of the year on Sunday (July 13), with several locals posting strong results.

Team Squamish’s Luke Di Marzo was the top-ranked ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵapprider at the event, with a fourth place showing in the Junior Expert Men’s race. It’s been a good month for Di Marzo, who finished second at the Mock Turtle enduro race on July 5 and 33rd at the Test of Metal on
June 14.

Squamish’s Rhys Verner was right behind his teammate in fifth place. Verner finished 27 seconds behind Di Marzo for another good result in what has been an excellent season for the 17-year-old rider.

Fresh off a win in the team category at the BC Bike Race, Squamish’s Quinn Moberg placed 31st in the Elite Men’s race in Sudbury.

Meanwhile, ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵappdownhill riders competed in three races of the BC Cup series at Sun Peaks, also on Sunday.Ìý

The race turned out to be a bit of a stumble for Squamish’s Harry Head. The Team ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵappmember was hoping to build off of a first place finish at BC Cup race two, but a poor landing during the race saw him fall to ninth.Ìý

Other local riders participating included: Lee Jackson (14th, Elite Men), Matt Nielsen (21st, Elite Men), Dexter Robson (35th, Elite Men) and Keara Clark (first, Masters 30+ Women).

Stay tuned to The ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵapp for continuing coverage of the local riding scene.Ìý
