It’s now essentially a two-team race on top of the Howe Sound Men’s Soccer League (HSMSL).
Galileo FC kept pace with first place Whistler following a 2-1 win over Sikh Temple on Sunday, Nov. 16. Richard Moody and Brandon George scored for Galileo, with Jotti Sidhu scoring Temple’s lone goal.
The win solidifies Galileo in second place with a record of five wins, one loss and one tie and it moves them nine points up on third place Sikh Temple. Despite being inactive this week, Whistler is still tops in the league with a record of six wins and one tie.
Sunday’s other game featured the Ellis Moving Eagles and the ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµappGunners playing to a 1-1 draw. Akber Taimur scored for the Eagles, with Sean O’Keefe replying for the Gunners. The Eagles occupy fourth place in the league and the Gunners rank fifth.
HSMSL action is now on a winter break for the rest of the year, with league action resuming next year.
Meanwhile in Vancouver Metro Soccer League (VMSL) action, ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµappFC bent but didn’t break in Vancouver on Saturday, Nov. 15.
ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµappplayed the West Coast Celts to a 1-1 draw, but still remain undefeated in VMSL action this season. The team sits in first place in Division 3C with a record of nine wins and two losses.
