Groenewoud, Riddle compete at Dew Tour

Pair of ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵappresident hit the freeski superpipe in Colorado

It was a nice early start of the season for a pair of Sea to Sky residents at the Dew Tour Mountain Championships in Breckenridge, CO. this past weekend.

ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵappresidents Mike Riddle and Roz Groenewoud competed at the tenth annual event, which features men and women competing in both snowboard and freeski events.

Riddle, who won silver at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics in the Freestyle skiing halfpipe, placed sixth in Friday’s (Dec. 12) freeski superpipe semifinal with a top score of 86.75 to advance to Saturday’s (Dec. 13) final.

He finished ninth on Saturday with a top score of 80.

For Groenewoud, a berth in the women’s freeski superpipe final proved to be an early birthday present. She placed eighth in the semi-final with a score of 64 on Dec. 10 but then made her birthday a happy one later that day by scoring a 73 in the last chance qualifier round to advance to the finals.

She finished sixth with a top score of 75.5 on Friday’s final round.
