Roulston aces Vancouver Marathon

ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµapprunner 16th in 42.2-kilometre race

David Roulston was the top local finisher in Sunday's (May 5) BMO Vancouver Marathon, placing 16th in the 42.2-kilometre running event.

Roulston finished in two hours, 45 minutes, 18 seconds, good for 16th place overall and sixth in the male 30-to-34 age group. Thomas Omwenga of Hamilton, Ont., won the race with a time of 2:24:08. Lucy Njeri won the women's race with a time of 2:40:34.

Former ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµappresident Jason Loutitt finished seventh in 2:38:32.

Martin Caron was the second-fastest local finisher, placing 101st overall in 3:07:55. Jenn Thiel was the fastest ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµappfemale finisher, posting a time of 4:09:03.

In the accompanying half marathon (21.1 km), Sean McCreanor was the fastest local finisher with a time of 1:28:29, good for 102nd overall. Jason Ross (1:29:25) finished 123rd overall, while Mike Heiliger (1:34:16) placed 253rd overall. Sheila McQuillan (1:47:09), Emma Seguss (1:48:57) and Deborah Finck (1:53:21) were the three fastest local female finishers.
