The Hockey 4 Screamin' Eagles are enjoying 2012 so far.

The Eagles won twice and tied once in three games on Saturday and Sunday (Jan. 14 and 15). The squad kicked off the weekend by thumping the West Vancouver Hockey 4.2 team 14-2 at Brennan Park on Saturday and followed that up tying the North Vancouver Hockey 4.2 10-10 in a high-scoring evening affair in North Vancouver.

The squad ended off the weekend on a high note, blanking the West Vancouver Hockey 4.1 team 6-0. The Eagles had six different players light the lamp in Sunday's victory, with forwards Austin Cranfield, Jake Heppell, Marcus Hernandez and defencemen Logan O'Sullivan and Ty Woodard all scoring. Eagles goalie Andrew Terry played a strong game, picking up his first career shutout.

"The group of players really came together to play a great team game and a result of that were able to lift all of their performance to next level," said Eagles head coach Derek Cranfield.

A Hockey 1 team made of local five-year-olds playing their first year of hockey attended the Timbits Jamboree hosted by the Vancouver Giants at the Pacific Coliseum on Sunday. The team played their first game versus the Vancouver Storm and the game ended in a tie.

"It was great to see our kids look up around them as they stepped onto the ice in amazement," said team head coach Leo Rodriguez. "Thekids represented ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµappwell. Good job guys and gals."

The Atom A1 Rep team had an impressive week, finishing with two wins and two ties and picking up three of four sportsmanship points in the process. The team played to a 4-4 tie against North Vancouver A3 on Jan. 10 and followed that up with another 4-4 tie on Friday (Jan. 13) against Burnaby Winter Club A5. The Atoms bounced back with two wins on Saturday (Jan. 14), beating Whistler A1 5-1 and then defeating Vancouver A3 8-2. The team, which is coached by Dale Smith, have now moved within four points of main rival Whistler A1 and have two games in hand.
