After three weeks of action in the Howe Sound Men's Soccer League (HSMSL), new team Sikh Temple sits atop the league and remains the only team undefeated after blanking the Ellis Moving Eagles 4-0 on Sunday (Sept. 25).
Sunny Kang led Temple to victory with a hat trick, while league-leading goal scorer Bruno Freitas added a single to secure the win. Temple improved to three wins without a loss on the year and has only allowed three goals in three games. The Eagles drop to one win, one loss and one tie on the season.
After losing to Sikh Temple last week, Khalsa got back on the winning track, defeating Zephyr 4-1. Khalsa displayed a balanced scoring attack with Gary O'Neil, Jeremy Galley, Mark Sedgwick and Rob Collner all scoring singles. Amos Odiambo scored the lone goal for Zephyr, who fell to zero wins and three losses. Khalsa improved to two wins and one loss and remains tied for second overall.
The afternoon game saw Galileo win its second straight, shutting out Automind 2-0. Cristian Oreamuno and Richard Moody tallied the goals for Galileo, who sit tied with Khalsa for second. Automind remains winless on the year, with zero wins, two losses and one tie.
HSMSL action will resume on Sunday (Oct. 2), with Galileo taking on Ellis, Zephyr meeting Sikh Temple and Khalsa facing Automind.
