Attention all former Sounders football players 鈥� you鈥檝e been challenged.
The second annual Alumni Football Challenge sees the 2014 Howe Sound Sounders football club invite all former alumni to Howe Sound field for a friendly exhibition game.
鈥淲e did this last year at the last minute because of a game cancellation, but the turnout was incredible as well as the number of emails from those who just couldn鈥檛 make it,鈥� said Sounders coach Jim Errington in an email. 鈥淚t was pretty cool and amusing and a number of ex-players have enquired about this year 鈥� probably because they lost last year.鈥�
Last year saw the 2013 Sounders defeat the Sounders alumni 18-6 in a seven-on-seven flag football game. The format for this year鈥檚 game is still to be determined.
The event also includes challenge competitions for quarterbacks, backs and linemen. It all goes down on Aug. 30 at Howe Sound field from noon to 5 p.m. Alumni who want to be involved in the game can contact Errington at [email protected] for more information.
