Sounders now taking on Moscrop

Howe Sound will welcome Panthers after Frank Hurt Hornets docked wins

The Howe Sound Sounders football club will now be taking on the Moscrop Panthers in the Tier 2 Provincial semi-final playoff game, which takes place at Howe Sound field on Saturday (Nov. 12) at 1 p.m.

It was discovered by league officials that the Frank Hurt Hornets, the Sounders original opponent, had used ineligible players in at least two regular season game and as a result the league took away two of the team's regular season wins.

The ruling bumped Moscrop into third place and forced the Hornets to travel to Nanaimo to take on the first place Islanders. However, Frank Hurt declined the invitation, claiming they couldn't make the travel arrangements. League officials offered the Sounders the chance to also automatically move on but Sounders management told the league they wanted to play and will host the Panthers on Saturday.

In the two teams only meeting this year, the Sounders defeated the Panthers 44-0 back on Oct. 22.

Check back to The Chief online tomorrow for news from Saturday's game.
