The ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵappSquash Club's 2011-'12 season has begun and the group wants to introduce the game to a whole new generation with its juniors program.
Starting on Wednesday (Nov. 9), organizers are looking for those interested from the ages of 13-18 to hit the court. The six-session program runs from 4 to 5:30 p.m. and takes place inside the club's headquarters at the ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵappValley Golf Club's clubhouse.
It's an $18 fee to take part in all six lessons or $3 for drop-in, if the space is available. The sessions are limited to eight students and will be taught by accredited instructors. The lessons will begin with a short technical portion, followed by a chance for all in attendance to test out their skills on the court.
The club also announced that Ladies Night will take place Thursday at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday has been designated as the official league play night and Fridays will be the drop-in night for members.
The annual Sea to Sky tournament will also return to the club and is tentatively scheduled for Feb. 17 to 19.
Another big event planned for the club will be the Open House clinic day on Nov. 19 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. It's open to anyone who wants to get introduced to the sport and will give newbies a chance to hit the court and learn the rules.
