ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµappequestrian athletes galloped to strong showings at the Mary Swanson Horse Trials Event in Maple Ridge on Oct. 5 and 6.
Newcomer Shea Labrenz and his pony Merrylegs had a good showing at his inaugural event, coming in first place in the starter division. ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµappriders Ali Heddberg on horse Go Go Pinto and Amelia Hubner on her horse Connect the Dots placed fifth and sixth, respectively, in their division.
Gracie Bailey on her horse Coeur De Bella also competed in her first event at the entry level, while Gabrielle Labrenz and horse Celtic Frye rode at the pre-training level.
Riders were scored based on the combined total of dressage, jumping and cross-country events. The ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµappValley Equestrian Association (SVEA) also hosted its annual Hunter/Jumper show on Sunday (Oct. 13) but results were not made available at press time.
