While the Dancing Bear Festival will have Quest University students grooving on Saturday (April 12), there will be a different kind of dancing going on at the Quest field — maybe something like the Super Bowl Shuffle.
The first-ever Sea to Sky Touch Football Classic takes over the school’s field starting at 10 a.m. and lasting until only the first-place
team remains.
The event will feature 16 teams and have an initial round-robin, followed by a championship knockout tournament. Every team will play a minimum of four games. The winning team takes home $500.
Registration for teams closed on Monday (April 7) but Kular said that there could be spots available for last-minute spares or additional teams and those interested can contact him at [email protected].
All proceeds from the event go to Right to Play, an organization that uses sport and play programs to improve conditions for children and their communities in disadvantaged areas of the world.
The event is free to watch. Kular encouraged local residents and Quest students to check out the action starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
