EDMUNDSTON — RCMP say a 52-year-old Quebec man is dead following a single-vehicle crash in northern New Brunswick.

The crash occurred on Highway 2 near the Madawaska Maliseet First Nation on Friday.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle died at the scene.

Police say the crash is believed to have occurred when the westbound vehicle went out of control and struck a guardrail and then a road sign before entering a ditch.

It’s believed speed was a factor in the crash.

The Mounties say the victim was from Saint-Camille-de-Bellechasse, Que.
