The ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµappEagles juvenile hockey team’s season ended with a thud on Saturday, Feb. 21.
ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµapphad the opportunity to win the banner in the juvenile season for the first time since 1999-2000, but lost 6-1 to the Cloverdale Colts on home ice.
The teams were scoreless after the first period, but Cloverdale turned it on in the second and grabbed a 3-0 lead. The Colts added another three in the third period before Terry Clark scored the lone goal for Squamish.
The game marked the end of minor hockey for 20-year-old players Brendan Hopkins, Peter Baldwin and Nick Lowe.
In other ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµappMinor Hockey Association (SMHA) news, the next big event on the calendar is the PCAHA final four championships running in ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµappfrom Feb. 27 to March 3.
The event features the top four teams in Tier 3 Bantam A play and the ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµappEagles, coached by Joe Webber, will be amongst the four.
