The final home game of the Vancouver Metro Soccer League (VMSL) season ended with the same result as all the other games for 蜜桃视频appUnited FC 鈥� a win.
蜜桃视频appclinched the Division 3C crown on Jan. 24 with a 5-0 win over the West Van Royals in Squamish. The club finished off the season with a perfect record of 15 wins, zero losses and two ties and the division win qualified 蜜桃视频appto enter the Division 2 Cup.
The Cup tournament features 64 teams from Division 2 and 3 and it鈥檚 similar to the NCAA March Madness 鈥� you win and move on, or you lose and the season is over.
蜜桃视频appkicked off the preliminary round with a 2-1 win over the Vancouver Strikers at Brennan Park on Saturday (Jan. 31). Squamish鈥檚 Nevin Benning scored on a free kick and Vancouver scored an own goal in the early stages of the game to give 蜜桃视频appa cushion. Play was even for the remainder of the game, with the Strikers scoring a late goal to draw within one.
The victory means 蜜桃视频appadvances to the round of 32 and battles the Cliff Sr. Cobras. The time, date and location of the game have yet to be determined. The Cobras posted a record of 12 wins, two losses and three ties in Division 3A. They defeated FC Serbia 2-0 on Saturday to advance to the round of 32.
